About Connie

Connie

Connie has been seeing clients and doing workshops in the Boston area since 1989, after moving here from Wisconsin in 1987.

Like many practitioners of the healing arts, Connie has been highly intuitive since childhood - some would say psychic - very tuned in to the energies of the world around her. She feels blessed that her family, while acknowledging God and Christian observances, did not raise her within the confines of any specific religion, thereby fostering a spiritual openness that has served her well.

She married young, and had four children within seven years. While her family was growing up, she became active in community theater ("saved my sanity," she says), worked as a Teaching Assistant (TA ) in a junior high, and attended classes at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

After receiving her BA in Communication/Mass Communication, she wrote a book - TAME* Your Jobs - Task Analysis Made Easy, and parlayed that into training and consulting business as a trainer for Quality Circles and job analyst. Certified as a "Minority Business" by the City of Milwaukee, she particularly enjoyed interviewing employers about the "impact of error" on the part of an employee, often watching with inner delight as supervisors gained new respect for the subordinate.

Early in her child rising years, her intuitive and psychic experiences increased in frequency. To learn to understand and manage these experiences, Connie attended Silva Mind Training. This class gave her the tools she needed to harness and master the natural intuitive gifts, and, in hindsight, was the real beginning of her healing career. The study and practice of yoga through the Kripalu Center, and the study of A Course in Miracles, took her further along a healer's pathway.

There was a time when Connie stood balanced between corporate and healing worlds, attracted to both. She had learned the Kapsos Deep Muscle Therapy and had found early on that her intuitive reading of the body's energies enhanced the benefits for her clients. Still, she had deep doubts - a real block - to believing she could make a living doing work, she loved so much. Then, in 1989, she encountered an unexpected healing through Andrew Cohen, (founder of the magazine "What is Enlightenment?"); the barrier of doubt dissolved, and, within a few months, she had placed her first ad for bodywork.

In the fabric of Connie's life, one thread has been ongoing: curiosity, interest and excitement about learning. In a class, or on her own, she is always learning something new and integrating it into her life, her practice, and her work with clients.

Maria Montessori describes very well the ongoing quest for knowledge and personal development:

My vision of the future is no longer people taking exams and proceeding then on that certification...but of individuals passing from one stage of independence to a higher [one], by means of their own activity through their own effort of will, which constitutes the inner evolution of the individual.
     - Maria Montessori, From Childhood to Adolescence

Connie's "effort of will" to learn has led her from her first steps of healing others in Silva Mind Training, through Kapsos Deep Muscle Therapy, Polarity, Dr. Callahan's Thought Field Therapy, and the wide range of other healing techniques she draws from while treating you.
